Philipp Langer is a Berlin-based Creative Director and Principal Creative Art & AI at Jung von Matt SPREE, working at the forefront of generative AI in advertising and visual storytelling.
He began his career in New York in the early 2000s, where he spent several years working as an art director and motion designer for agencies such as R/GA, Digitas and Wieden+Kennedy, shaping digital campaigns for global brands.
As one of the pioneers of creative AI applications, he now develops new approaches to image, film and production - helping brands rethink how ideas are created and executed. His work spans clients including American Express, Haribo, Volkswagen, Coca-Cola, Zeiss and IBM.
A leading voice in the international AI filmmaking scene, his projects range from AI-driven campaigns for brands like Stella McCartney and Dove to experimental formats that push the boundaries between reality, design and machine-generated worlds. His work has received international attention, including a feature in the BBC’s AI Decoded.
He is also the creator of The Hybrid Portraits, an AI art project with a global following that has garnered tens of millions of views. The project has been widely recognized, with his work shared by Will Smith and Snoop Dogg, praised by legendary director George Miller, while also sparking critical reactions from designers such as Stefan Sagmeister. It explores new forms of digital identity and visual culture.
